CERAMIC CROWNS AND BRIDGES

Dr. Lowry believes in creating a high quality experience with long lasting results. For this reason, our office uses non-metal ceramic crowns and bridges for individuals in need of a metal crown replacement or those suffering from severely broken down teeth.

CERAMIC CROWNS + BRIDGES FAQ’S

    • Consultation: Your dentist evaluates your teeth and takes X-rays if needed.

    • Preparation: The affected tooth (or teeth) is reshaped to fit the crown or bridge. Impressions are taken to create custom restorations.

    • Temporary Crown/Bridge: A temporary crown or bridge is placed while the permanent one is being crafted.

    • Placement: The permanent ceramic crown or bridge is cemented in place, ensuring a comfortable fit and proper alignment.

  • Ceramic crowns and bridges are suitable for most patients needing restoration or replacement of teeth. However, your dentist will assess your oral health, bite alignment, and other factors to determine if they are the best option for you.

  • Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and visiting your dentist for regular check-ups. Avoid chewing on hard objects like ice or pens to prevent damage.

  • Ceramic crowns are tooth-shaped caps made entirely of ceramic material, used to restore the shape, size, and strength of damaged or decayed teeth. Ceramic bridges are fixed dental prosthetics that replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring to adjacent teeth or implants using ceramic crowns.

  • Ceramic crowns and bridges are popular because they are highly durable, natural-looking, and biocompatible. They match the color of your natural teeth, providing a seamless and aesthetic solution for dental restoration.

  • With proper care, ceramic crowns and bridges can last 10-15 years or longer. Good oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and avoiding habits like teeth grinding or biting hard objects can extend their lifespan.

TEETH WHITENING

Dr. Lowry offers both in-office and at home teeth whitening solutions for patients looking to brighten their smile! Whether there’s an important event coming up or you want conservative esthetic improvements, teeth whitening will freshen up your smile.

PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are a common cosmetic procedure for individuals looking to correct the overall appearance of their smile. This restorative procedure improves the shape and symmetry of  teeth as well as whitens the color.

Dental veneers are a great option for anyone suffering from severely stained or chipped teeth. Porcelain veneers can be applied in a few short visits, resulting in a beautiful smile that will provide confidence for years to come!

PORCELAIN VENEERS FAQ’S

  • Veneers do not require special care beyond regular oral hygiene. Brush and floss daily, avoid biting on hard objects, and visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings.

  • Porcelain veneers can correct minor misalignment and give the appearance of straight teeth. However, for severe cases of misalignment, orthodontic treatments like Invisalign or braces may be recommended.

  • Yes, the process is considered permanent because a small amount of enamel is removed from your teeth. Once placed, veneers cannot be reversed, but they can be replaced if needed in the future.

  • With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10-15 years or more. Regular dental check-ups, good oral hygiene, and avoiding habits like biting hard objects or grinding teeth will help extend their lifespan.

    • Consultation: Your dentist will evaluate your smile and discuss your goals.

    • Preparation: A small amount of enamel is removed from the teeth to make room for the veneers. Impressions are taken for custom fabrication.

    • Temporary Veneers: Temporary veneers may be placed while your permanent ones are being crafted.

    • Placement: The permanent veneers are bonded to your teeth, adjusted for a perfect fit, and polished for a natural look.

  • Yes, porcelain veneers are designed to match the color, shape, and translucency of your natural teeth. They are virtually indistinguishable from real teeth when crafted and placed correctly.
